President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed delight that Ondo kingdom, since Oba Victor Kiladejo, became the Osemawe, 10 years ago, has been witnessing peace, progress and prosperity.
The President stated this in his letter of congratulation dated November 22, to the monarch on the occasion of his 10th anniversary on the throne.
In the letter, personally signed by him, Buhari commended the Osemawe for providing good leadership that had attracted abundant prosperity to his subjects.
He said, “I am glad to note that the 10 years in which you have been the Osemawe and paramount ruler of Ondo kingdom have witnessed peace, prosperity and hopefully, many more decades of peace and prosperity lie ahead.”
Buhari added that a series of events and activities already packaged to celebrate the occasion from Wednesday, November 30 to Friday, December 2, were meant to touch the lives of the people.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Planning Committee of the 10th Coronation Anniversary, Chief Wole Benson, said in a statement on Monday, that notable Nigerians would receive chieftaincy titles on Friday while the annual Ekimogun Day celebration would hold on Saturday.
He listed the chieftaincy title beneficiaries to include, Senator David Mark; Senator Olorunnimbe Mamowora; Sir Kessington Adebutu; Chief Dele Fajemirokun; Mrs. Maiden Ibru; Prof. Friday Okonofua; Erelu Ojuolape Ojora; Prof. Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe; Mrs. Funbi Akinnola and Chief Simeon Akinlonu.
Benson explained that the Osemawe, in the last 10 years, had launched the 500 years of Osemawe dynasty, conceptualised the Ondo City vision, initiated the establishment of EKI fm Radio Station and ensured the construction of Ondo City gates.
